Women of Impact: Alexis Wormley

Mom, wife, business owner

Hi! I'm Alexis Wormley, I am a mom, wife, and business owner. I own an online women's clothing store selling contemporary styles serving women who work chill, and travel. I've always loved fashion and sharing my personal style with the world which inspired me to take a leap of faith and launch my own e-commerce store.

How did you get to where you are today? *

I have to thank my parents for a huge part of who I am today. Also, my husband that I have been with since I was 15 along with many of life's experiences- the good and the ugly.

What is the most impactful experience that has shaped who you are? *

I think traveling to parts of the world and living in different places and meeting all kinds of different people and hearing their stories has been the most impactful for me and simply making honest efforts. Being exposed to all different kinds of things and ways of life has helped mold my beliefs, values, and what I want for myself.

Has it been a smooth road? What were some of the struggles along the way?

It's been a very bumpy road! I love the quote "A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor." I always try and remember that! Some of the main struggles I face and sometimes still face is fear, self-doubt, overall logistics of the operation, and overthinking. Some things that help me overcome those challenges are taking a break and regrouping/shifting my perspective and not to play the comparison game. Just do me and let what's for me be for me.

What's something that you're currently doing or working on that excites you or you're most proud of? *

I can't say just one thing, but honestly being a mom fills my cup along with staying active, making healthy, sustainable lifestyle changes, and practicing self-love. I'm a work in progress and that journey alone excites me. I'm tapping into HER

How does what you're currently doing now impact you?  *

What I am currently doing impacts me to be the best version of me so I can reciprocate that to other people who rely on me and things like my work that need my attention. So just knowing that without me being my best, it will negatively impact everything else in my life like a domino effect.

What advice would you give to fellow women trying to make an impact? *

The best advice I can give is to be consistent with your intent. We all have a purpose and consistency is always key. Being nice will only get you so far; be kind and genuine. Also be yourself and stay true to your core values! You won't have to force anything, you'll attract what is meant for you.

How do you create "balance" in your life with all you do? *

Whenever I start to feel "pressure" the first thing I am used to doing is amplifying it by feeding it negativity such as "omg, IDK what I'm going to do," "I can't do this," "how is this all going to get done?" That's all negative association, so I quickly shift my mindset and I also stop when I need to/feel like stopping. I really feel like balance is about disciplining yourself. Lastly, I truly believe there is no day in the week that's too soon for wine.

We as women have many superpowers, what is one of yours? *

I am not sure if this is a superpower or a privilege but I am not afraid to be my true self and my intuition is as strong & powerful as my lash glue
